KLH is strong enough to be used for allergy testing. Therefore it is considerably dangerous for people with this allergies.

Confusing reaction

It may be difficult to distinguish from food poisoning. Abalone allergy is caused by a specific protein functioning as an allergen. On the other hand food poisoning is caused by bacteria.

Types of shellfish and allergic reaction

Among abalone shellfish called Chilean La Paz shell, it is easy to react. La Pashell is close to eating texture, so it is used for cooked food as a substitute for high quality domestic abalone.
